The Boston Public Health Commission has banned the sale of all single cigars under $2.50.  People are buggin and I’m like… this is just an excuse to buy them in packs of four….

“I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.”

“There is an unmistakable hip-hop swagger to Born to Die. It knocks like a rap album, and careful listeners will notice that Lana delivers some lines as if she’s spitting rhymes. ‘You’re so fresh to death,” she sings at one point, “and sick as ca-cancer.’”

hmmmmm what am i seeing for 2012? techno….. lots and lots and lots of post rave. less and less of a distinguishable boundary between “hip hop” and “electronic” (as far as production goes) and a shitload of sexy chopped and screwed rap. emcees who know what’s good will hop on future bass tracks and ride that wave until it hits the mainstream, whose sound as a whole will slow down again and get a little more sexy. dubstep is still fun but irrelevant. as the year progresses it’ll be interesting to see who’s still got their money on that…
