Surrealism.  It just…. fascinates me.  If you find Dali’s artwork to be particularly inspiring, I recommend the move to surrealist literature and poetry.  Surrealism splits into two strategies - two directions, if you will - psychic automatism and the dream element.  The latter is usually what we associate with the visual art of surrealism, and while it’s unarguably profound, the writing is what really stirs me.

True surrealists write to give their unconscious mind a voice, to explore the complex inner realms of passion, sexuality, violence, life, and to expose ideas the conscious mind represses.  It was Breton himself who said the movement was intended, first and foremost, to be a literary one, so please, I urge you, read up!
